Built in 1860, Hotel Sea Point once housed visiting members of the Admiralty and their families. Now this grand Victorian building is a three star hotel just ten minutes’ walk from Torquay Harbour. From the moment you step inside the premises you will notice that this is not a modern hotel. In fact it is a listed building, so the old-style decor is in keeping with the original look of the building. If you want new, modern furnishings and decoration, look elsewhere.
This hotel sits atop a hill that leads down to the harbour, so when you walk back it can be quite tiring. To reach your room you might also have to clamber up the stairs in the hotel as there is no lift.
You will only have a 30 minute time slot to make sure you’re in the dining room for your breakfast. Morning meals are served between half past eight and nine o’clock, a time frame which should really be extended.
