Positive Reviews
positive:
Perfect hotel for families.
You could spend the entire holiday in the hotel itself; there are so many facilities and dining choices. Kids, also, have a whale of a time.PS: If, by any chance, there isn't enough going on here, there are more bars and entertainment … just across the road.
positive:
Catering for the masses.
As a rule of thumb, it seems that the larger the hotel, the worse the food gets. This is a large hotel … but the food is imaginative and well served. There are three Sunrise hotels in the area and you can choose where to eat, in advance, using the computerised system. It's difficult to criticise the food adversely - or any of the catering, cleaning and admin staff. They are all friendly and efficient.
positive:
Go B+B.
If you go bed and breakfast here, there is then the opportunity to sample some of the excellent local restaurants. There are others, but the Nicholas Tavern is one that you'll want to return to.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Areas for concern.
The communal areas are dated and uninviting. There is significant bar noise at night, resulting in little, if any, sleep. There's mould in the bathroom, dirty tiles and an extractor that doesn't work.
negative:
Poolside regimentation.
The fact that you are allocated a sunbed (!) must be a huge disappointment for visitors from you know where… no more early morning towel reservations! It makes a lot of sense but it also strikes a discordant note and detracts from the ‘relaxation' theme of the holiday.
negative:
Clean sweep required.
Room cleaning is inconsistent and when it happens, it can be at any time during the day. Whilst on the topic of cleaning, the pool area could be kept in better order… a bit of a ‘dive', sometimes.
