Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location near Trastevere Station
Trastevere's railway station is right across the road, and the tram stop just a bit further. Guests found that it was very easy to get around Rome by public transport from this location. Also mentioned is that Trastevere itself, though not a big tourist spot, offers much of interest.
positive:
Excellent value for money
While all readily admit this is not the Ritz, most guests, on reflection, believed they had received excellent value. They had paid budget rates for a budget option, and were happy to be in a reasonably central and convenient neighbourhood.
positive:
Helpful and friendly staff
Despite the occasional issues many travellers have at the hotel, most do describe the staff as friendly, welcoming and willing to try to correct problems that arise.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit difficult to find
The Radio Roma is a small hotel, with just 16 rooms, and is on the seventh floor of a fairly nondescript high rise. While this sort of set-up is common in Italy, it is perhaps less so elsewhere. As a result many guests are surprised, when they arrive at the address, that there is no reception on the ground floor. They think they may be at the wrong location. On the positive side the seventh floor location results is some views over the city.
negative:
The lift is tiny
Though in a fairly tall apartment complex, guests describe the lift in the building as much too small for its purposes. Aside from claustrophobia issues, it simply couldn't carry enough people per minute, resulting in long waits.
negative:
Rooms desperately need refurbishing
The rooms are described as extremely “tired”, and best viewed with the lights turned down, or even switched off. As of late 2015 there were reports of renovations taking place, so guests should check the current status before travelling.
