While the red dralon furnishings, cork wall tiles and 'Rediffusion' control panels over the beds aren't everyone's cup of tea, there's no doubt they're much appreciated by nostalgic guests who're less than enthused by generic chain hotels...

With pictures, portraits and murals of the legendary rockers plastered all over the walls, this is definitely the place to come if you've ever wanted to have a drink with Mick and the boys!

Everyone from the owners to the waiting staff go out of their way to ensure you're treated like an individual guest rather than a 'customer'. Needless to say, this is a 1970s throwback that is greatly appreciated.

No cooked breakfast option.
Whilst there's nothing wrong with the Continental breakfast offering here (in fact, it's extremely good), it just doesn't seem right to be denied the option of tucking into a full English...

Some rooms are blighted by traffic noise.
Being close to a busy road means some of the hotel's rooms - most notably the front-facing ones – inevitably receive a degree of unwelcome traffic noise, particularly in the mornings. Might be worth your while to pack some ear plugs, just in case.

Avocado bathrooms.
There's a limit to how much retro you can take and, for most people, that limit is reached when an avocado bathroom pops up. Sadly, these 1970s décor disasters are still very much in force here...
