About Mònica Hotel
Despite being in the very heart of Cambrils, and 100 yards from the beach, Monica Hotel offers calm and tranquil accommodation.
The rooms have that clean and modern Scandinavian look, and feature en-suite bathrooms with hairdryer, air conditioning, minibars, flat screen TV’s with satellite channels, in-rooms safes, work desks, and telephones.
There’s a lovely peaceful garden with sun loungers as well as a games room with ping-pong and other games. Motorists will find private parking available, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout. For those staying in shape on vacation there is a fully equipped gym, and for those just wanting relaxation, a full spa.
The chic and modern buffet restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine for all three meals.
Monica is barely 100 yards from beach, town centre and small craft harbour, so there really is no shortage of things to do. For family fun, the massive Port Aventura Theme Park is just 6.3 miles drive away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Outstanding central location
Of course it had to be the amazing central location that guests most appreciated. To state it simply, everything they needed was within a very small radius form the hotel. Beach, town centre and marina were all mere yards from the hotel.
positive:
Very nice design
The hotel seems to have been recently renovated and guests definitely approved of the design chosen. It could be described as “Scandinavian”, but perhaps a cut or two above IKEA. Guests liked that it was modern without being uncomfortable.
positive:
Surprisingly good breakfast
There were a lot of very positive comments about the breakfast, with most simply saying that it was very good. It seems that both taste and variety where to almost everybody's liking.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Trendy frosted glass bathroom walls
It seems the Monica has followed the trend by installing frosted glass panels between the showers and rooms. While these look good, guests mentioned that they obviously compromise privacy, and were a bit uncomfortable with them.
negative:
No in-room tea and coffee facilities
Of course these are available at breakfast, the bar and even reception, but a good number of guests would simply have liked the ability to make their own hot beverage in their own room with a minimum of fuss.
negative:
Very awkward parking
A couple of guests mentioned that they found the hotel's on-site parking very difficult to use. The space was said to be quite cramped, and the bays very small. As a result it only really worked with compact cars. Anything bigger and it was very difficult to try to fit in.
