Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location for nightlife and beach
Guests report that the location, right on Poppies Lane, was truly excellent. While it appears many were in town for the nightlife and streetlife in this area, it certainly didn't hurt that the beach was just a short walk away either.
positive:
Very friendly staff
Guest after guest reported that they were very impressed with the hotel's staff. It seems that all staff, not only those in the front office directly dealing with customers, were incredibly friendly, happy and helpful, which even helped put guests in a better mood.
positive:
Excellent pool courtyard
The pool courtyard here is fairly unique, with the lovely gardens contrasting with dramatic sculptures that dot the area. The guests clearly liked this area, both the way it looked and of course for the chance to relax on a sun bed or take a refreshing dip.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms a bit dark and mouldy
Guests in rooms at one end of the property had a problem with them being a bit too dark. It seems that they are in a shady spot, and together with what was described as dark décor, it resulted in rooms that were a bit gloomy. It was also said that the lack of light contributed to a mould problem in the bathrooms.
negative:
Breakfast gets a bit monotonous
A number of guests reported that the breakfast menu, already fairly limited, did not change at all during their stay. As a result they soon tired of the food.
negative:
Lots of room changing
An extraordinary number of guests mentioned either being moved from their room to another during the course of their stay by the hotel, or insisting on moving due to a shortcoming of the room they were in. It seemed to be a bit of a “musical rooms” game.
