Positive Reviews
positive:
Super location.
Right in the center of town, all the amenities are on the doorstep. Shops, restaurants and the stunning lake; you can walk to them all! PS: don't miss the famous Church Street Marketplace; it's only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. 'Squeeze' in a word about the staff and that word is 'fabulous'!
positive:
Lovely hotel and facilities.
The hotel has an upbeat, 'classy' feel to it and they try (and usually succeed) to think of everything. A welcome feature that you don't find in many places is a handy mini coffee bar. There's one on every floor! The lobby, sometimes drab and a real turn off, is really bright and welcoming here, with local artwork on display. The bar and restaurant are equally appealing, as are the rooms; nicely decorated and fitted out with really comfortable beds.

Activities galore.
If you're the slightest bit enthusiastic about any form of exercise, don't miss the cycle tours .. and if a bit more adventurous, a spot of kayaking!
Negative Reviews
negative:
Food good - but not memorable.
Maybe everything else here builds up the expectations for some exceptional dining. So, it comes as a bit of a disappointment to report that it's OK - but not stunning. Psst! The Hen on the Wood Restaurant is fabulous!
negative:
Small rooms.
They are fine for one person, but with two sharing, it's good that they already know each other well! They're lacking in useful furniture too, with cupboard and storage space at a premium.
negative:
There's a damp smell
Rooms can have that unused, damp smell which isn't the best introduction to your hotel base.
