The Brunswick is a family owned hotel in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight and is located in a 150 year old building built as a Victorian gentleman's home. It overlooks the sea, has an indoor pool and is excellent for short breaks or family holidays. All rooms have colour TVs, direct dial phones, hospitality tea/coffee trays and heating. Some rooms have ocean views. The two-bedroom family suite accommodates up to six and has a lounge and balcony. The Brunswick has indoor and outdoor swimming pools. There is a sauna, patio and garden area for guests to enjoy. The hotel dining room has bay windows that overlook the sea lounge where meals made from local produce are served. There is also a cocktail bar here. The entrance to the garden of Shanklin Chine is right below the hotel. The Shanklin Theatre, Pirates Cove Adventure Golf and Small Hope Beach are close by too.

The Brunswick enjoys a stunning location overlooking the sea, with some of the rooms boasting sea views as well. The area is quiet and peaceful so guests looking for some quiet time have been very appreciative. There are pleasant walks into town and guests can also take the lift to the beach. The location is great for cycling and also has a bus stop close by.
The staff is friendly and very helpful and courteous said guests. The quality of food offered at the hotel also receives positive comments. The rooms are clean and well kept as well.
The bathrooms have only hair wash shower heads and not proper showers which disappointed several guests. Some of the guests also said that the water pressure was weak and one guest felt that the bathrooms were in real need of some updates.
Sound tends to carry in the old building and it is possible to hear noises from rooms above said guests. Many were disturbed as a result.
Some guests felt that the interiors of the hotel were rather dated looking and give the impression of needing updates. Some beds and mattresses need replacing too felt a few guests.
