Decent Find for the Money
Visitors remarked that for the price they paid, they came out ahead when staying in Santa Cruz with this hotel. Since it's within walking distance of the beach, they didn't have to pay a parking fee. Furthermore, those traveling with children really enjoyed the free breakfast because, again, they didn't have to pay for at least one meal during the day.

Guests mentioned that this is not a luxury retreat by any means and that's fine with them. The rooms are very big and spacious. They also offer other amenities like the outdoor pool and kitchen appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves.

Neighborhood Appears a Bit Sketchy
A few visitors remarked they felt nervous. Although no one reported an issue, the neighborhood seems to have loiterers outside at different times of the day and night according to some guests. As a result, some visitors didn't feel entirely safe.

Guests mentioned that the rooms can have a very odd odor. Some describe it as the moldy while others mentioned smells of urine and lingering cigarette smoke in non-smoking rooms. Just keep in mind that staying here maybe a smelly adventure depending on your room.

Housekeeping has some flaws according to some guests. They mentioned things like bathrooms with no towels and rooms that aren't clean thanks to unmade beds, dust on counters, etc. Furthermore, guests stated that things such as the decor and furniture seemed outdated and worn-out.
