The 4-star Hotel Russo Palace occupies a prime position on the Lido of Venice’s waterfront, where it looks out over the lagoon towards Venice, five minutes’ walk from Lido Beach, water buses and taxis, and wellness centre treatments at Spa Lanna Gaia del Lido di Venezia. Guests staying here are located just under half an hour away from St Mark’s Square by vaporetto. Rooms in this neo-Gothic villa are soundproofed, air conditioned, have TVs with satellite and Sky channels, as well as a direct-dial telephone and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms even have a hot tub and water-facing balcony. Guests can rent bikes from the 24-hour reception, and make use of tour booking, babysitting, laundry and luggage storage services. This hotel offers in-room breakfasts, room service, has a bar on site and is a short walk from a handful of restaurants. Hotel Russo Palace is about five minutes’ drive away Venice-Lido Airport.
Russo Palace is said to be a lovely old villa located in a quiet spot right on the lagoon, giving some fantastic views out towards the famous sights of the city — although make sure to request this if your heart is set on it, as a few rooms apparently face away.
Guests said they were located a short walk away from central Lido of Venice, reasonably-priced restaurants and the beach. Moreover, they said they were also just a short vaporetto ride away from the central tourist attractions of the Venice via the nearby terminal.
The staff here was thought to be friendly and attentive, and had plenty of local advice to share for those guests looking for recommendations. On top this, people were generally happy with the hotel’s continental breakfast buffets and the clean rooms.
A small number of those who stayed at Russo Palace said they thought their rooms were too small; a few also thought the decor was dated, and for this reason some said that they found these to be rather on the expensive side.
Not everyone who stayed here thought the beds were comfortable, with a handful of guests mentioning that they experienced the contrary. Furthermore, people reported occasional smells from the drains, also this appears to be normal for Venice.
