Hotel Quality Inn N.A.S.-Corry (Pensacola, USA)

The staff are truly brilliant, kind and attentive. Without them, the flood gates of complaints would creak under the strain. However, they are here so ... schtum!

Many guests are here, one way or another, because of the proximity to the naval air base. There's no 'miss selling' on that point; you couldn't get much nearer. It's also well placed for shops, clubs and restaurants. There's a McDonald's across the street, a small bar next door - and lots more choice; plus Cory Station is within easy walking distance.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are well appointed and equally clean; plus they pass the final test with flying colors! Walk across the floor with bare feet and feet remain clean. You don't find that to be the case everywhere!

It's a really convenient location ... but not a very nice one. Dilapidated buildings and you don't need sunglasses with the shady characters that hang around this area. The motel, too, has its fair share of people who you wouldn't seek out as neighbors. Very suspicious. They're high on life - or something else - as they yell at each other in neighboring rooms and well into the early hours.

Very dated. The initial impression, though, is that rooms are clean. That confidence goes down the plughole as you enter the bathroom; not cleaned since the last guest left, the toilet doesn't flush; curtains are dirty, broken bath tub ... and a return of that old favorite, mold!

If it's the beach you're after; it's in a seemingly unattainable setting and a much better location, six miles away.
