Positive Reviews
positive:
Very nicely decorated
The decor at the Plaza On the River makes the hotel look as though it was built in the 1920s, despite the fact that it is much newer. Rooms are individually decorated and a number of guests have appreciated the effort that has gone into creating one of a kind rooms.
positive:
Large indoor pool
Guests have commented that this property has one of the largest indoor pools that they had ever seen. The entire pool area is very well maintained and provides an excellent place to relax after a long day of playing the tables in the city.
positive:
Good location
Past guests of this hotel have commented on its location, as it is just a short walk from the River Walk and casinos like the Sands Regency, Harrah's, and the Eldorado. These guests appreciated being a little bit away from the action, yet still close enough to walk.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No views from rooms
Despite the fact that the Plaza On the River sits right on the Truckee River, none of the rooms have views of the water. Instead, guests have complained that all they could see from their rooms was other buildings, with some having a glimpse of the mountains in the distance.
negative:
Mandatory valet parking
A few guests did not like the fact that there is mandatory valet parking at the hotel. This means that guests could not park their own cars and needed to rely on the staff to retrieve their vehicles every time they wanted to leave the property.
negative:
Hard pillows
Some guests have complained about the hard pillows at this hotel. If you are overly sensitive regarding your pillows, you might want to pack your own.
