Positive Reviews
positive:
Very central location
Of course it had to be the location that guests most liked about Pension Miami. It was described as incredibly central, just steps from the main square, and close to the café, tapas bars and nightlife that bring so many to Barcelona.
positive:
OK for budget travellers
While there was certainly no shortage of complaints about Pension Miami, quite a few guests mentioned that it might not be a bad deal for those who only wanted to use their room to sleep. They considered the hotel's conditions somewhat grim, but the room-rates very low, so concluded that if you were likely to be out all day/night, and only use it to sleep and bathe it might be a good deal.
positive:
Friendly and helpful staff
While there were also some negative reviews, most staff seemed to be described as both friendly and helpful.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Extremely small bathrooms and showers
Going by guest comments it seems the bathrooms are very small indeed. Many talk of them being very awkward to use. Even normal size people were said to struggle to really shower property in the tiny cubicles.
negative:
Problems with the heating
A surprising number of guests travelling in the winter months mention problems with the heating. It cannot be controlled from the rooms, and many said that the heating would cut out at night, leaving them freezing for hours at a time.
negative:
Some rooms have no window
Even the rooms with windows were rated very poorly, so the guests in the rooms without any windows were even unhappier. Claustrophobic guest should take note.
