Positive Reviews
positive:
Staff will impress.
Outstanding staff that were extremely hard-working really made an impression on guests visiting this resort. From helping with restaurant reservations, to impeccable room service, attention to detail wasn't overlooked by hotel staff. Guests also found that staff were happy to help without tips, but that many tips were well-deserved.
positive:
Beautiful tropical setting.
You will feel like you are truly in paradise at the Paradisus Punta Cana, with tropical grounds that are meticulously maintained. Everywhere you go, there will be gardens, shrubs, flowers, as well as expansive lawns and walkways that greatly enhance the guest experience.
positive:
Leave the kids in good hands.
The Kids Zone at this hotel was a great way for parents to entertain their children, knowing they were safe and having a good time. Some parents mentioned that kids asked to go back to the kids club, and that caring, enthusiastic staff provided a great experience for smaller guests.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Make sure you have comfortable footwear.
Get out your walking shoes at this resort, one of the biggest guests have seen. Rooms near the beach can be as much as 15 minutes away from the kids pool. A tram can take you where you want to go every 15 minutes, but some guests were unhappy to wait. With transportation used by hotel employees, such as bicycles, service vehicles, and trams, some guests commented that it sometimes felt like a major road on resort grounds.
negative:
Different guest categories.
Some guests felt the pressure to upgrade to room categories or service levels that included extra amenities. Guests with an enhanced Melia Club or Reserve package had access to a personal butler, and exclusive use of spa services and a special swimming pool. As a result, some guests didn't like being excluded from resort privileges, such as being denied a ride on a hotel tram meant only for Reserve or Club guests.
negative:
So-so buffet.
While guests were pleased with themed restaurants at this all-inclusive resort, many felt the buffet could have used some improvement. A little more variety was what guests would have changed if they could.
