About Oldfield House
Oldfield House is a 4-star B&B in a quiet residential street of the Lake District town of Windermere, just a few minutes’ walk from the downtown shopping, cafes and pubs. This former Victorian gentleman’s residence is around 15 minutes’ walk from the shore of Lake Windermere in Bowness, as well as the Beatrix Potter Attraction and lake cruises. All rooms come equipped with modern en-suite bathrooms, LCD TVs (selected rooms with DVD player), hairdryer, beverage tray, radio alarm clock and high-quality linen. The guest lounge includes two large sofas, a flat-screen TV, as well as books and games, the hotel is non-smoking and free private and on-street parking is available. Oldfield House offers continental starters and full Cumbrian, salmon or Eggs Benedict breakfasts, caters for special diets and uses locally-sourced ingredients. Windermere Railway Station is 0.7 miles away and the Windermere Golf Club is 1,8 miles away.

Quiet spot close to everything.
The B&B’s location on a residential street — close to a great pub — meant guests were able to relax away from the busy parts of town, while they could walk to Windermere village’s shops and restaurants in five minutes. They said it was not too much further to Bowness and the shore of Lake Windermere and it was a great base for further Lake District adventures.

You will find the rooms here to be very clean, nicely decorated in quaint B&B fashion, but nevertheless equipped with modern bathrooms and good Wi-Fi. The easy parking options were also well appreciated.
