Positive Reviews
positive:
Very handy location for exploring the city on foot
A significant number of guests have raved about this hotel's location, mostly because it makes such a great base for seeing the city on foot. Indeed, everything from Montjuïc Hill and the Gothic Quarter to La Rambla and the beach lay within an easy stroll, plus there are all manner of bars, restaurants and clubs right on the doorstep. Having a metro station so close by makes exploring the rest of the city very easy too.
positive:
Receptionists are friendly and professional
The attentive and seemingly effortless service proffered by this hotel's highly hospitable reception team certainly hasn't gone unnoticed. In fact, many visitors suggested the reception-based staff members — with their speedy check-ins and impressive English language skills — are the hotel's greatest asset.
positive:
Free gym access is a nice touch
Well-stocked with equipment and literally just over the road; it's easy to see why so many travellers have been impressed by this complimentary perk!
Negative Reviews
negative:
Guest accommodations are pretty small
The vast majority of visitors who've stayed here have said the guest rooms are just too small to be comfortable. Many of those who complained also observed that the miniscule bathrooms were so small they could hardly make use of them.
negative:
Sound insulation is non-existent
It has been noted that the walls in this hotel's accommodation areas are super-thin. Indeed, a great many guests have reported how they were consistently disturbed (and woken) by the sound of blaring TV sets, flushing toilets and other guests showering/chatting/entertaining in neighbouring rooms.
negative:
Lift isn't the best
Numerous travellers have highlighted the shortcomings of the hotel's lift. Evidently, it's as slow as it is old so taking the stairs is often a quicker (and potentially safer) option.
