Hotel La Verticale (Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France)

A number of previous guests highlighted the excellent value for money offered by the hotel. Central Chamonix can be expensive and those on a budget ski holiday recommend this hotel for those travellers watching their pennies.

The hotel is centrally located in Chamonix and this was mentioned across a number of reviews as its best feature.  The stunning views of Mont Blanc and towards Argentiere from the hotel were also specifically mentioned by previous guests as a highlight.

The staff at the hotel rated very well across a number of reviews and are known for being friendly and helpful. A number of previous guests were very happy with the level of personal service they received.

A number of reviewers commented that they felt that even by budget hotel standards that the rooms were unacceptably small and did not leave a lot of room to store luggage and move about without bumping into furniture.

Across a number of reviews the breakfast that was provided for an additional fee by the hotel did not get positive comments. The breakfast provided is a basic continental spread, with a limited selection and a number of guests remarked that future guests should skip breakfast at the hotel and venture into Chamonix to have breakfast at one of its many cafes.

Some guests felt that the hotels' decor was very old and outdated with soft furnishing and linens showing obvious signs of wear and tear.  Although many guests acknowledged that this is a budget hotel they still felt that a refurbishment was needed.
