While fairly simple in terms of décor, the rooms are nevertheless very well equipped. They contain extra large flat screen TV’s and free high speed Wi-Fi, so you are never out of touch, even up in Alaska, as well as conveniences such as microwaves and minibars.
A convenient airport shuttle is available, but guests using their own cars will find ample on-site parking. Those doing business in Fairbanks will welcome the availability of a dedicated business center and meeting rooms.
A continental breakfast of waffles, cereals, muffins, eggs, biscuits and gravy fresh fruit and tea/coffee/juice is served every morning.
Guests traveling in winter shouldn’t miss out on trying to view the spectacular Northern Lights. There are numerous tours offered, but any spot away from the city lights should be good.

Great location near the airport
Though the hotel is some way from what could constitute “downtown” Fairbanks, guests nonetheless really seemed to like the location. It was described as being incredibly close to the airport, which was very handy for the many guests using it for an airport layover.

It seems the staff were the highlight of many guests stay. They were described as very friendly and welcoming. While reviews on the extent of their local knowledge were more mixed, many guests found that they gave useful tips and recommendations when it came to Fairbanks matters.

Though the food was not exactly described as spectacular, a couple of guests mentioned that they found it convenient to have a full service restaurant adjoining the hotel. That way they didn't have to brave the often harsh Alaskan weather when looking for quick bite to eat.

Ongoing construction noise
Guests were mentioning issues with an ongoing renovation project as late as April 2016. While most said that the hotel would look fantastic once completed, they experienced problems with construction noise during their stay.

Room temperature issues initially
There were a fair number of guests who mentioned room temperature issues on arrival. The temperature was either much too cold or much too hot for their liking. The problem seemed to be that it took most of the rest of the day for the temperature to respond to their adjustments.

Though not often brought up, a few guests did say that they thought their room was a bit small. Those who often stayed at other La Quinta properties considered their room much smaller than the group standard.
