Hotel La Bohème is an intimate 2-star hotel 200 metres away from the nightlife and dining of Amsterdam’s Leidseplein square, across the road from DeLaMar Theatre and just around the corner from Melkweg music hall and the Amsterdam City Theatre. The P.C Hooftstraat shopping street, Vondelpark and the Museum Quarter, including the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, are less than ten minutes’ walk away. Almost all of the 18 rooms have private bathrooms, and all are non-smoking, have free Wi-Fi, a TV, safe, hairdryer and telephone. Some rooms have street views, others have a quieter aspect, and ironing equipment is available. Paid parking and bicycle rentals are available close by, and Hotel La Bohème is a Green Key certified hotel. A simple Dutch breakfast buffet is included in room rates and drinks from the bar can be taken back to rooms. Amsterdam Centraal Station is 18 minutes away by tram.
Guests found La Bohème to be very clean, comfortable, relatively quiet for the location, and particularly good value for money given Amsterdam’s high prices and the tea and coffee available at any time.
The hotel occupies one of the most central spots one could hope for in Amsterdam, just around the corner from Leidseplein square, and an easy walk to museums, bars, markets, shops, and on the line for buses directly from Schiphol Airport.
You will find the staff here to be wonderfully friendly and happy to recommend things to see and do in the city, while the real boss of the place seems to be the hotel cat Mimi.
Typically steep Dutch stairs are indeed the case here, and make sure you do not have much luggage with you, in case you happen to get one of the rooms on the fifth floor.
A small number of guests found the rooms and bathrooms to be a bit small for a long stay, but fine for a few days, and those rooms facing the front can experience a little bit of noise, especially if you want to open your window, so take some earplugs just in case.
