Hotel Iron Horse is located 500 meters from Leidseplein (Leidse Square) that is packed with great restaurants and shopping malls where popular brands such as Apple, Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, among other brands abound. The popular Rijkmuseum (classic and contemporary art museum) is 700 meters away, while a walk to the bustling red light district takes just 20 minutes.

Many guests have been pleased with the level of customer service in the hotel. Several guests have been particularly impressed by the professionalism displayed by the front desk staff and receptionists who made check-ins and check-outs fast and efficient.

Some guests have reported that their bookings were cancelled by the hotel without prior notice and with no good explanation offered. This appears to be in connection with rooms getting overbooked.

Hotel Iron Horse is housed in an old historic building. Though the rooms have received serious upgrades, some guests still felt that the hotel need to add a touch of modernity in the lobby and some rooms, some of which look jaded and dull.
