Quiet yet convenient location.
The hotel is surrounded by its own private gardens and overlooks the river which provides a very scenic and tranquil backdrop. Guests were pleased to find lots of tourist attractions within walking distance of the inn as well as plenty of local restaurants, bars and cafes. Although close to all the amenities, the hotel is far enough away from all the hustle and bustle which meant that guests could enjoy peaceful evenings.

Guests complimented the overall cleanliness of the rooms stating that they were well-presented and kept clean and tidy for the duration of theirs stay. Although this is an older property, many were surprised to find all the necessary mod-cons in their rooms including quality coffee makers and fridges.

Many enjoyed using the outdoor-pool which was described as clean and warmed to a pleasant temperature. Those who wanted keep fit and active used the on-site tennis courts and also took advantage of the complimentary bikes and kayaks provided by the hotel.

Disappointing breakfasts.
Guests were disappointed to find that the continental breakfasts were quite unappetizing and offered very little in terms of variety. Many said that they would have preferred more hot items as well as larger portions.

Slow service at restaurant.
Those who dined at the on-site restaurant mentioned that they had to wait longer than expected to receive their orders and objected to the lengthy delays in between their courses. Some guests said that they had to go in search of the waiting staff as no one was available in the dining room.

Dated bathrooms.
Some of the guests said that their bathrooms looked quite tired and dated with old-fashioned suites and basic fixtures. Moldy grouting, cracked tiles and peeling paint were just some of the objections voiced by disappointed guests.
