D’Argouges is housed in an exquisitely renovated 18th century townhouse, and is an ideal base to explore the fascinating Normandy region. The rooms are decorated with lovely French antique pieces and luxury fabrics, but still contain all the modern facilities like satellite TV an in-room Wi-Fi. There is a beautiful flowered courtyard and lovely garden out front, with birdsong in summer. In winter, you can move indoors and enjoy the cosy fireplace in the lounge. Breakfast is served in the lovely breakfast room. For other meals, its best to ask the staff for some great local suggestions. There is certainly no shortage in Normandy. The Gothic Notre Dame de Bayeu Cathedral is just 10 minutes’ walk away, and the incredible Bayeux Tapestry just 12. The main regional attraction, the beaches of Normandy, are a 10-mile drive away.
D'Argouges is situated in its own garden right in the centre of Bayeux. Guests felt that this allowed them the luxury of strolling to interesting points in the village, while still enjoying a very quiet and peaceful stay. Also often mentioned is that the hotel, and Bayeux, was the perfect base to explore the region.
There is a central courtyard, and also a garden out front. Even guests travelling in winter comment that the garden is lovely and they wished to return in the spring. Summer visitors are more effusive, and like to spend as much time as possible in the garden.

Though not universal, some rooms are described as having “odd” bathrooms. Not so much odd in a charming sense, but rather odd in that they were difficult to use. It seems to be a result of the structure of the old building itself.
