Positive Reviews
positive:
A good base camp
The hotel is in a great location for those who want to explore downtown Austin as the local highway gives easy access. There is plenty to see and plenty to do in the area directly around the hotel. Guests can walk in either direction to find many shops, restaurants, bars, and attractions.
positive:
Gives a good value
The hotel gives a good value for the money spent. For those needing an extended stay, the daily rates are much cheaper than those found at a standard chain hotel, even of the budget variety. The units are more like mini apartments than hotel rooms. For the cheap price, you get a functional and comfortable room.
positive:
A friendly staff
The staff here is friendly and helpful. They are eager to give advice and recommendations about the area to new visitors. The check in process is quick and the hotel is run very efficiently.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bleak breakfast
The breakfast offerings are a bleak spread. There are very few options from day to day and all of those are cold carbohydrates. There are no fresh fruits or juices and no freshly prepared items.
negative:
They could use a checklist
The hotel has some cleanliness and maintenance issues. Many mechanical features, like the elevators, are frequently out of business. Guests often have to call the main desk for standard items, such as towels and remote controls, that are missing from the room or broken and impossible to use.
negative:
The nose knows
The hotel has no "smell-proofing" between the units. Smells of cigarettes often wander into other rooms, as well as the nightly routine smells of dinner cooking. Most disturbing is the smell of pet odors and pet urine which linger in the hallways and many units.
