Positive Reviews
positive:
Good central location
Guests really seemed to like the location. The Marais is described as village-like, and guests liked the atmosphere on the streets. Also, they found that many attractions were within walking distance, and those that weren't could easily be reached by nearby metro.
positive:
Staff were friendly and kind
Guests were pretty much unanimous in their praise of the staff at De Neuve. They were described as welcoming and friendly, but also showing genuine kindness and concern for guest's wellbeing.
positive:
Good value for Paris
The guests who managed to get over the very small rooms, concluded that they had received decent value for money. They say that they would have had to look quite hard to find a better deal in Paris.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Teeny tiny rooms
Of course all Parisian rooms are exceptionally small, but this knowledge did nothing to make guests feel any happier about the small size of their rooms. They say, in effect, that if their room were any smaller the bed would have to be placed vertically. There is a slightly bigger superior room, but this is also described as very small.
negative:
Poor internal soundproofing
While there were not many complaints of external noise, some did say that it didn't seem that there was any internal soundproofing to speak of. They said they could clearly hear all the goings on in the adjacent rooms.
negative:
Wi-Fi a bit spotty
It seems a fair number of guests were unhappy with the Wi-Fi. While it seemed to be fast enough when working, they said the system would often go down and leave them in the lurch.
