Close to shopping centers and restaurants, the Best Western Plus Scranton East Hotel & Convention Center was in a great location for most guests. Those with business in Scranton also found it convenient to the convention center and downtown.

Guests, especially those with youngsters, seemed to enjoy the hotel's pool and large Jacuzzi, the ample towels, clean surroundings and comfortable sitting areas.

Waffles, pancakes eggs, bacon and home fries all went down well with most guests. Some thought the complimentary breakfast was restaurant quality, others described it as a bargain.

According to some guests, the staff at this hotel were polite and efficient, but others had a very different take on things and reported billing mix-ups, overbooking problems, unauthorized credit card transactions and generally poor customer service. Lengthy delays in resolving issues were also reported.

Musty odors throughout the hotel, an overpowering smell of chlorine around the pool and the smell of smoke in non smoking rooms were a few of the recurring complaints about the Best Western Plus Scranton East Hotel. Guests who had requested non smoking rooms were sometimes given rooms with strong odors of cigarette smoke and told by hotel staff that there were no non smoking rooms available.

A variety of complaints about the overall cleanliness of this hotel were reported. Some guests described the bathrooms as unclean with mold and mildew in the showers, others reported various insects including cockroaches and many felt the entire hotel required some very deep cleaning.
