Positive Reviews
positive:
Great for business travelers.
Guests attending to business in Québec City found themselves close to a variety of office buildings and headquarters, such as Ernst & Young, ABB, GSK, Costco, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Olympus NDT Canada. Also within close proximity are Laval University, Chul Hospital and the Québec City Convention Center.
positive:
Comfortable beds.
Many guests slept like a baby at this hotel, due in large part to great beds. Premium mattresses, a variety of comfortable pillows, and nice bedding, provided a home away from home experience.
positive:
Stylish rooms.
Updated guest rooms with sleek interiors were easy on the eye. Guests liked that this carpet-free hotel felt clean and modern. Bathrooms were also found to be recently renovated.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Inconvenient without a car.
Guests staying at this hotel found that it was far from many tourist attractions, including popular Old Québec. The good news is that a free shuttle is provided between the hotel and this area of the city, which includes must-see destinations like the Chateau Frontenac. Destinations that are close by include the Québec City Aquarium and shopping at Laurier mall.
negative:
Crowded breakfast area.
Breakfast was a busy affair at the Holiday Inn Express City. Guests felt that the breakfast room needed to be larger to accommodate the burgeoning morning crowd. Staff also struggled to keep up with the demand for food, and things like overflowing garbage and not enough cups made guests want to eat elsewhere.
negative:
Tight parking.
While parking is free at this hotel, it is also not great for large vehicles, according to guests. You might want to pay close attention while parking to avoid any dings or scrapes.
