Yalbury
Cottage is a 350-year old country guesthouse that was earlier a 17th century
shepherd’s cottage situated in the Lower Bockhampton Village, Dorchester.
Rooms
are done up traditionally and give a beautiful view of the countryside. They are
provided with flat-screen televisions, DVD players and tea/coffee making
equipments. En suite bathrooms have a bath, shower, toiletries and hair dryer.
Yalbury
Cottage provides complimentary parking and Wi-Fi. Guests can have a good time
in the garden and sun terrace. Facilities of luggage storage, babysitting and
ironing can be availed. Pets are allowed on applicable charges. Bicycles can be
rented for sight-seeing. A bar/lounge, banquet and meeting room is present.
English
breakfast is complimentary. There is an onsite restaurant that serves French
cuisine and afternoon tea. Special diet menu can be ordered.
Dorchester Train station is only three miles and Weymouth is a twenty minutes’ drive from the hotel. It’s a short walk to a Golf Course.

Cozy cottage with great meals
Guests loved the small yet cosy cottages with lovely countryside surroundings. Rooms were decorated tastefully and maintained well. A thoughtful touch like homemade biscuits kept by the coffee corner was much appreciated by the guests. The onsite restaurant is also done up well with beamed ceiling and a fireplace. Food served in the restaurant was delicious and all the ingredients were sourced locally which enhanced the taste of the food. The service was top notch. Canapés and pre dinner drinks were loved by the guests.

All the staff members were very courteous and attentive to the smallest of the concerns that guests had to share. Guests felt very warmly welcomed with complimentary homemade biscuits. It is a very pet friendly hotel and guests were thrilled to have their pets along with them.

Good location with convenient parking
Most
of the guests loved the countryside location where the guests could take a
lovely walk along the river and enjoy the scenic beauty. The garden outside the
rooms took some of the guests back to the old times and was very nostalgic.
There was ample parking space for all the guests to park their vehicles.
