Guests were happy with the location of the hotel, with quick access to wine country and the shops of Solvang. Opportunities to explore on foot were ample, and guests appreciated being in the center of things.

Many guests were pleasantly surprised to be given a breakfast voucher included in their room rate. Amble across the street to the charming Danish bakery and help yourself to a coffee and pastry.

You'll find it difficult to discover any dust or dirt at the hotel. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard, and guests were impressed wth cleaning staff and their ability to provide a spotless room.

While many guests appreciated the no-frills charm and coziness of the hotel, others wished for updated decor. Older furnishings will have you wondering if you stepped back in time a few decades. Guests felt it was time to say goodbye to older air conditioning units, couches and some beds.

Some guests felt the Solvang Inn and Cottages gave new meaning to no-frills. Basic rooms seemed to skimp on furnishings like enough lamps for adequate lighting, or one wastebasket between two adjoining rooms. Guests also found that towels and toiletries were not plentiful.

While guests appreciated the free breakfast, many were left in need of a little more fuel for a busy day of sight-seeing. Breakfast vouchers provided a limited amount of food and one cup of coffee, unlike a self-serve continental breakfast guests might find at other hotels.
