Positive Reviews
positive:
Very good value for money
Again and again guests mentioned that they felt they received excellent value for money. The New York metro area is of course known for its expensive hotels, and while by no means cheap, they felt they received a very competitive room rate for a perfectly decent hotel room.
positive:
Pretty decent breakfast
The guests really seemed to enjoy the breakfast offered at the hotel. Though it is a relatively simple continental breakfast, several guests reported that it contained a good variety of foods. They had no trouble putting together a breakfast they really enjoyed and which set them up for the day ahead.
positive:
Spotlessly clean
Guest after guest commented that their room was spotlessly clean on check-in. For unknown reasons, it seems that the expectations had been set low before arriving at the property, perhaps because of the low rates. In the end, guests were happy to report that these were far exceeded.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Walls are “paper thin”
Guests complained that they could easily hear the sound generated in the adjacent rooms. Even normal sounds like people taking and a TV playing were said to be audible. Guests felt that the rooms were not sufficiently soundproofed.
negative:
Some rooms far from reception
It was mentioned that some of the rooms can be quite a trek from reception. Some guests felt that it was very far to walk, especially multiple times a day when heading to/from breakfast and outside trips.
negative:
Some distance from the train station
It was pointed out that the nearest station, from where trains to New York can be boarded, is some distance from the hotel. Guests said it was definitely not within walking distance and that one would have to get a cab to and from the station.
