UK Deluxe Hostel is a two-star hostel situated within Chung King Mansions, Honk Kong. Victoria Harbour is only five minutes’ away from the hostel. Rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facility, air conditioner, ceiling fan and 24-inch LED television with digital channels. Bathrooms are shared or private, with a bathtub/shower and free toiletries. Hair dryer and refrigerator are available on request. Pets are allowed on request. Wi-Fi is complimentary but parking is chargeable. A terrace, spa treatment rooms and business centre are present. Facilities like luggage storage, dry cleaning, ironing, currency exchange, fax and laundry can be availed by the guests. The hostel is perfect for a bunch of people travelling together. It comes out to be quite economical. Rooms are basic provided with the required amenities. Room service was good enough. They refilled the toilet paper and the free bottled water daily.
The Wi-Fi connection is fast and reliable. This enabled the guests to work online and stay connected without any irritating glitches and delays. The front desk services are available 24 hours a day. Some guests got confused with the closed curtains but they just had to knock on the glass door.
Most of the guests found the location of the hostel to be very convenient as it was close to many places of interest and public transport too. It is a short stroll to the TST Metro station. The area is famous for shopping with many high flying brand outlets like Cartier, Gucci, Tiffany and many more. K11 Shopping Mall and Kowloon Mosque are only a mile away from the hostel.
Majority of guests were troubled with cockroaches, small insects and even bugs on the beds. Rats were running all around the place at night.
Many guests found the reception staff to be rude to the extent that they yelled at guests. Some guests were charged more during Check-in and the reception refused to refund the extra amount later on.
The supply for the hot water was timed and it was given only for two hours. This caused a lot of inconvenience to many guests.
