Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly and welcoming staff
It was very hard to find any comments criticising the staff, for either the services rendered or the spirit with which they were carried out. They were universally described as very friendly, professional and efficient when dealing with guest's queries or issues.
positive:
Very high quality food
It was next to impossible to find a negative review of the food. From breakfast to dinner, guests seemed to really enjoy the taste and presentation of the meals. About the only criticism was that the portions were too large.
positive:
Beautiful building and grounds
Though not mentioned as often as might be expected, several guests did compliment the hotel and its groundskeeper on doing an excellent job maintaining the gardens to a very high degree.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Maybe a little expensive
While guests didn't necessarily think that they had received poor value, they did note that the room-rates were very high. Some seemed to be in two minds about whether they really should have paid that much for a hotel room, not matter how great the service or location was.
negative:
Extremely popular wedding venue
Some guests mention that it is perhaps too popular as a wedding venue, with other guests either feeling left out, or at the mercy of the quality of the wedding party. If the party at the time they happened to be staying at the hotel was noisy, or rough in some way, it could tend to spoil their stay.
negative:
Spotty Wi-Fi
Unfortunately, the poor hotel Wi-Fi curse seems not to have passed over this beautiful part of Wales. Several guests speak of issues with Wi-Fi. Usually it was a case of losing signal, but also that it was sometimes just too slow to meet guest's needs.
