Positive Reviews
positive:
Exceptional hands-on owners
The owners of Dream Island come in for extensive praise for both their warmth and their professionalism. Guests commend them for setting the tone for all the staff, by being extremely welcoming and absolutely focussed on helping them out in any reasonable way they can.
positive:
Free shuttle from the airport or ferry port
A great many guests mention the free pick up and drop off as a major plus point. The shuttle seems to work like a charm, with no guest really reporting being stranded. On the contrary they are usually pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything runs.
positive:
Great pool terrace with spectacular view
As with many other resort properties, it was the pool terrace that attracted the most praise from guests. It was described as containing a lot of little nooks and crannies, with seating and sun beds where guests could get away from the crowds. Also, the view over the valley to the Adriatic beyond was described as spectacular, and the archetypal Santorini outlook.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Questions concerning value for money
Dream Island overwhelmingly attracted positive reviews. While not widespread, a few guests did comment that they thought they paid a very high room-rate, and did somewhat question whether they had received sufficient value in return.
negative:
Rooms a tad small
Again, this wasn't mentioned very often, or considered a major issue by most, but some did comment that their rooms were a bit on the small side.
negative:
Not in the centre of Fira
The hotel is not quite in the centre of Fira, and it was mentioned that the immediate area can be a bit quiet. To many this is an advantage, but guests looking to be in the heart of the nightlife might consider a more central hotel.
