The Colognole Country Wine Estate is located within the Azienda Agricola Colognole, which has been producing Chianti Rufina DOCG and Extra Virgin Olive Oil for 150 years. This is a widespread hotel consisting of rooms in B&B service, apartments and entire villas. The Colognole farm, immersed in the uncontaminated green of Tuscany, extends with its 650 hectares of property along the right bank of the Sieve river, about 30 km north-east of Florence. The Counts Spalletti Trivelli, from Emilia region, bought it 150 years ago and today five generations of the same family have engaged in the care of the production of wine and oil quality. The Country Wine Estate organizes for guests guided tours of the vineyards with wine and oil tastings, visits to the cellars and explanation of the production process. The new restaurant Antica Osteria di Poneta is open for lunch and dinner and offers typical dishes of Tuscan and Italian cuisine, with fresh pasta, pizza cooked in a wood oven and meat of excellent quality. Only 5 km from Colognole is the Scopeti railway station, which with frequent connections makes it easy to reach the center of Florence in about half an hour.
