Located in the historic California Gold Rush area of the Sierra Foothills, the Grey Gables Inn has eight elegantly decorated guestrooms named for British poets such as Byron, Browning, and Shelley. Rooms are furnished with authentic antiques and each has air conditioning, a fireplace, and full private baths, some with classic clawfoot baths. The Carriage House contains two large luxury suites and feature Whirlpool tubs, twin showers, Twin Vanities and heated floors for those cold mornings. In true British tradition, there’s afternoon tea and cake, as well as evening wine and hors d’oeuvres that have become a bed and breakfast tradition. A gourmet breakfast is served, featuring Sue’s ever-changing array of culinary creations with a British flair. Guests may enjoy the meal in the relaxed social atmosphere of the dining room, or take breakfast in the privacy of their own room.
