Comfy spot to recharge.
Guests found to hotel to be just what they needed for somewhere fairly cheap to base themselves, recharge, make use of Wi-Fi, and then hit the city, with the bikes available for rent also coming in handy.

Negative Reviews
negative:
Basic facilities, but there is a lift.
Sure the rooms may be a bit small, there is no kettle in the room and the facilities are basic, but at least there is a lift to save you from the steep Dutch stairs, which is more than can be said for many Amsterdam hotels.
negative:
Dormitory’s expensive for what they are.
Just be aware that the shared rooms at Downtown Hotel Amsterdam are essentially hostel-style dormitories, and sometimes untidy, as a few people were unhappy with the price paid for such arrangements.
negative:
Can be rather noisy.
With walls apparently a little thin and a fair number of people headed out for the nightlife, take your earplugs if you do not intend to go out for the night yourself.
